You’re cleansing, you’re toning, you’ve even incorporated a serum into your skin care routine, but if you aren’t masking, you’re missing out! When chosen and applied correctly, utilising a facial mask 2-3 times a week can help bring moisture to the skin, draw out impurities, exfoliate, brighten, tighten and tone!

Just like the rest of your skin care routine, the mask you select should be appropriate for your skin type. For oily and problem skin types, regular masking is crucial to keeping your face clear of breakouts and blackheads. I recommend utilising a clay mask like the Hydra Medic Sea Mud Perfecting Mask. Kaolin Clay and Ichthammol help to reduce oiliness and while deep cleaning pores. Just apply to a clean face, let it sit for 8-10 minutes (we like to file our nails and make a cup of Chamomile tea while we wait) and then remove by splashing your face with clean water. Gently pat dry and voila, emerge with clean, healthy skin in just a matter of minutes.

Masking can be the best way for you to exfoliate if you have sensitive skin. The Hydra 4® Mask helps to soothe and calm but it also provides a gentle chemical exfoliation with lactic acid to help your skin clear of irritating dead skin cells. Scrubs can irritate sensitive skin, so this mask is perfect for keeping your skin soothed and smoothed.

For dry and dehydrated skin types, I suggest using a cream mask like the Hydra Dew Illuminating Cream Mask. This deep acting moisture formula, rich in Marine Moisture Factor from seaweed also contains water lily and the amino acid proline to help reduce redness and irritation. Smooth on, leave for 10 minutes and simply dab off with a clean tissue – no need to rinse! You can even leave this on overnight for super-dehydrated skin. Masking has never been easier!
