Ah, February. The season of aisles of boxed chocolates, hanging heart decor and cupids arrows taking flight!
It’s our, not so subtle reminder that our partner deserves some attention and to be shown how special they are to us.
There’s nothing better than a couple’s trip to the spa, but if that’s not in the budget here are some ideas on how to create a spa experience at home.
Spa-tify your home
Take time to de-clutter, clean and organize the space.
Create and print a spa menu for your special guest.
Play the spa music channel on Pandora and light some candles.
Finally, prepare some warm towels by soaking hand towels in warm water with a few drops of essential oil. Wring them out and keep them warm in a crock pot on the lowest setting.
Soak up the experience
Prepare a warm bubble bath for your partner and allow them to relax with a nice glass of wine.
Have a cozy robe waiting for them when they get out.
Let’s get physical!
Begin a massage ritual.
Using a dry brush, exfoliate the skin with upward, circular strokes toward the direction of the heart. This will smooth the skin and increase circulation.
Next, perform a relaxing massage with fragrant massage oil.
The face of romance
Nothing feels more “spa” than an indulgent facial.
With moistened fingertips, work a facial scrub into the skin avoiding the eye area.
Remove the scrub with your aromatherapy towel.
Next, apply a hydrating sheet mask to the face. While it’s working, perform a relaxing neck and shoulder massage.
